Regarding documents services, here are the 3 major types of services we offer:
1. Certified True Copies & Signature Witness
A certified copy is a copy (often a photocopy) of a primary document, that has on it an endorsement or certificate that it is a true copy of the primary document. It does not certify that the primary document is genuine, only that it is a true copy of the primary document.
In the case that you need to open bank account for your company (whether it is incorporated in Hong Kong or overseas), all the copies of documents to be submitted to the bankers must be certified by qualified certifiers as true copies of these documents AND the signature of applicants on account opening documents must be witnessed by qualified certifiers, in which the documents include but not limited to:
- your company documents: Certificate of Incorporation (CI), Business Registration Certificate (BR)
- your company’s member documents: ID cards, passports and residential address proof
- proof of business documents: sales contracts, bank statements
The qualified certifiers to provide certified true copies services are:
- Hong Kong practising CPA
- Hong Kong Solicitor
- Notary public
Format of certified true copies is that certifier must sign and date the copy document (printing his/her name clearly in capitals underneath) and clearly indicate his/her position on it. Certifier must state that it is a true copy of the original (or words to similar effect) and the number of pages to be recorded. In addition, the related parties who sign the account opening form are witnessed by the certifier.
2. Apostille by Hong Kong High Court
For Hong Kong company who need to apply for bank account opening in a foreign country, clients are required to a prepare for a set of incorporation and financial documents with apostille.
In Hong Kong, the High Court offers service to certify a true copy of a document, the certified copy will be deposited a red ribbon for attach all pages. Since documents served by apostille in Hong Kong is in accordance to Hague Convention, documents must fulfill the requirement of Hague Convention and in turn get qualified by other countries who recognize this convention.
3. Notarization by Hong Kong Notary Public
The common needs of notarization in Hong Kong for commercial uses are as follows:
- prepare for Powers of Attorney (POA)
- statutory declaration for company documents (for businesses).
